Terms and Conditions
Sail The Canaries Terms and conditions of business
Booking
A 25% deposit is required upon confirmation of your booking. The remainder of the fee is due 6 weeks (42 days) before the start of your course, holiday or charter.
Insurance
Your Yacht is fully equipped to RYA standards and is fully insured against accident and third party liability. It is a condition of booking with Sail The Canaries that all clients are insured against the usual risks of travel and sailing/motor cruising holidays including personal accident, injury, personal belongings, loss of charter, training or holiday and cancellation including flights if applicable. Please ensure your travel insurance covers you and your group, for cancellation/changes to your booking due to you or any member of your group becoming ill. Sail the Canaries will not be liable to reschedule/refund your holiday should you not have taken out adequate travel insurance.
Cancellation
If due to unforeseen circumstances you find it necessary to cancel the booking we hope that your loss will be minimised due to our insistence on adequate insurance cover. All cancellations must be in writing and received prior to your departure date. A cancellation charge of 25% (the deposit) will be made for cancellations received from the booking date up to 42 days before ‘Start Date’. If cancellation is made within 42 days of ‘start date’ the cancellation fee will be equal to the ‘Total Fee’. In the event of a course, holiday or charter being cancelled by Sail The Canaries (due to yacht failure/accident) our liability will be limited to the return of all fees already paid (this does not include travel costs, loss of earnings etc). In the event of a course, holiday or charter being cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (acts of god, war etc), Sail the Canaries will not give refunds and customers should claim on their travel insurance.
Flight Cancelation
It is your responsibility to arrive with us to attend the course or holiday. If your flights are cancelled or you are unable to get to us for any other reason, Sail The Canaries will not be able to refund or reschedule.
Travel/Passport/Visas
Please be aware of your country’s entry/exit requirements for travel. Please be aware that entry to the island may be refused if you have not followed travel requirements – Sail the Canaries will not be liable for re-scheduling/refunding your dates if you have not followed the requirements.
Damage or Loss of Equipment
All damages and losses attributed to carelessness will be paid for by the client at replacement cost.
Change of Vessel & Individual Berths
Sail The Canaries reserves the right to introduce an alternative yacht type other than those published should an emergency situation arise. Clients booking individual berths will be placed on the yacht which in the Company’s opinion is the most suitable. If a private cabin has been booked, this will be honoured.
